Use |
Samarium oxide is an inorganic metal compound and can be used to prepare other organic materials and catalysts.
Used as a material for making metal samarium, magnetic materials and memory elements.
It can be used as an infrared absorbing glass additive, as a coating in photosensitive materials, for making samarium cobalt permanent magnet materials, and as a raw material for producing samarium metal.
Mainly used to make metal samarium, samarium cobalt series permanent magnet materials, electronic devices and ceramic capacitors.
Used in the manufacture of samarium metal; samarium-cobalt permanent magnetic materials; electronic devices and ceramic capacitors; samarium-cobalt alloy with high coercivity and high magnetic energy product.

production method |
The rare earth chloride solution obtained from monazite or mixed rare earth ore is treated by extraction method, and the system is extracted with P2O4-kerosene-HCl-RCl. First, neodymium and samarium are grouped, and samarium and heavy rare earth are extracted into the organic phase, and then used 2.0mol/ L HCl was used to back-extract the heavy rare earths, and then 5.0 mol/L HCl was used to back-extract the heavy rare earths. The samarium-gadolinium enrichment obtained by grouping is reduced by zinc powder, and europium is extracted by alkalinity method, and then samarium and gadolinium are separated by the mixed rare earth grouping method. After dissolution, precipitation with oxalic acid, separation, drying, and burning, samarium oxide is prepared. Its Sm2(C2Od)3→Sm2O3+3CO2+3CO |
